We, the residents of the Lafayette Glen/Monticello neighborhood, wish to convey our concern to the Lafayette Planning Commission regarding the possible pending approval of the Wight project Phase I submission. The process of building a very large structure on a challenging site well above the neighborhood, only accessible via a narrow steep road, poses potential health and environmental risks to the neighborhood during construction and beyond.

We do not feel the City has adequately explored the potential health and environmental risks to the neighborhood in anticipation of the construction. Approval of Phase I of this project is premature until these risks are fully explored and understood. We, as residents, request that the Planning Commission place the approval of Phase I on hold until such serious issues as health and safety are addressed.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum this is gaining and I never thought so many of you would rally behind this concern. This response belongs entirely to this neighborhood and the people who care about our safety. Please know that seeing these names is a constant reminder that we are in this together.

STOP THE PROJECT. My kids walk that street to get to the park. Totally unsafe.

The city hasn't listened to anyone living here. We are the ones who actually have to deal with the mud and noise.

Building on that hill is crazy. it is just asking for a landslide later on. Please think about the families.

This whole thing is a disaster waiting to happen. The road is way too small for big trucks and the traffic is already bad enough.
