Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) involves chronic inflammation of all or part of your digestive tract. IBD primarily includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Both usually involve severe diarrhea, pain, fatigue and weight loss. IBD can be debilitating and sometimes leads to life-threatening complications. It is a silent illness often people cant even see how ill you are. But we suffer horrendous pain daily and living a normal life is a challenge for us all.
All of you will know or know of a person who suffers from IBD. Please help us by signing our petition.

Training provided for a specialist IBD Nurse
Access to a patient helpline
Introduction of "Cant wait" passes for toilets
Nutrition therapy support
Begin discussions with Border Control in spain to allow us to have special passes to cross the frontier and avoid the queue.

We hit one hundred signatures and John Cortes clearly still expects us to stay silent about this medical neglect. People are suffering in the heat while waiting at the border and I am sick of being ignored. Keep the pressure on until they finally open their eyes.

I have Crohns and have been forced to go to the UK to get urgent treatment! Not at all happy and have submitted an official complaint.
IBD is a terrible illness, and patients need a lot of support and access to fast treatment. Any delay causes distress. They need access to the latest drugs which will help there quality of life and allow them to live a full life. I am a parent of 2 sons who have Crohns. One lives in Gibraltar.
There needs to be a lot more research, support and treatment available for sufferers of these mostly 'silent' diseases here in Gibraltar .
Needed my daughter was diagnosed in 2013 and has changed not only her way of life but me as a mother of someone who suffers constantly
diagnosed with ulerative colitis 2013, condition that has completely changed my life. Great to see support!
I have always had bad stomach problems yet diagnozed with chrons in the large intestine and especially very badly in the duodenum to which i suffer alot ... Time for change

There are more cases that do not come forward and suffer in silence, it seems there is a high rate of IBD in Gibraltar.
