Trick or Treat should be on Halloween. How many Fridays does Halloween fall on a Friday in a kids childhood. Once or twice. Every kid I talked to is really disappointed about this, including my own.

Why are we changing Halloween? This is ridiculous. People took off work. I’m in college in Columbus and called off work to come home to my family and pass out candy in my neighborhood. You can’t just change a holiday a week beforehand because of a high school football game, really? Is that what we’ve come to.

Avon is the only city in the area that is on the 30th. Other cities that have changed have either moved it to the 1st or 26th in the afternoon. We rarely have the opportunity to let our kids enjoy the holiday without getting up for school the next day.

My kids were thrilled when they learned halloween was on a Friday this year! We were all so upset when we found out it was switched to a school night instead because of football. Not everyone in the town attends football games.

Very little of the population goes to the high school football games or cares. Plus trick or treating is mainly for younger kids that would love to celebrate later since they won’t have school on Saturday. Don’t take that away from the kids because others choose to play a sport.

I think it’s silly to switch trick or treat due to a possible playoff game that may or may not be in Avon. Football dominates this city too much. I am a fan of the football team, but it is on a pedestal here in Avon.
