In doing so, we would align ourselves with neighboring communities as well as on a national level. Additionally, the last time Halloween fell on a Thursday in 2013, our community selected this nationally recognized date for our children to participate in Trick or Treat Night.
Selecting Thursday October 31 is also a safer option for the children as adults would anticipate children being out on the sidewalks and streets engaging in joyful activities.
We, as a community, request that you consider this one year change to keep our children safe, align ourselves with local and national communities, and keeping with our historical patterns.

We should align with the other townships or there will be confusion and disappointment on both nights.
Please change this date so that we are aligned with the rest of the townships in the school district and to eliminate confusion since our traditional trick or treat night actually falls on Halloween this year.
Halloween is October 31. Let's keep it that way...like everyone else.
