Timberidge Petition For NO WAKE ZONE
The Timberidge Board of Directors, members and neighbors hereby request that the Corp of Engineers make Yellow Creek a NO WAKE ZONE. The Timberidge community dock is on Yellow Creek and the heavy wake surfing traffic is not only causing major erosion to the shoreline but docks in the area have reported damages due to large wakes generated by wake surfing. The Timberidge Board requested a no wake zone in the past stemming from the concern of a potential community dock accident due to the increased boat traffic (wake surfing, wake boarding, tubing, etc.) but was denied by the Corp.
On 7/25/20 a wake boat ran into the TOL community dock, rendering it unuseable for the entire community for months. Luckily no one was seriously injured. However, this incident proves the TOL Board of Directors concerns were in fact warranted. The signatures below petition the Corp of Engneers to reconsider changing Yellow Creek into a no wake zone starting at the Chestatee River.
We thank you, in advance, for your attention to this matter.
