Timbercreek Speed Tables
The speed limit in the Timbercreek Community is 25 MPH. The maximum speed limit for a residential area in the state of Florida is 30 MPH.
Unfortunately, many motorists and residents of Timbercreek fail to abide by the speed limit. Failure to follow the speed limit endangers the residents of the community and something must be done to change the trend of speeding in our neighborhood.
To my knowledge the HOA of Timbercreek has reached out to the Nassau County Sherif's office and "borrowed" LED signs that are meant to encourage people to drive at an appropriate speed.
After a near personal tragedy in my own community, in a cross walk none the less, I feel it's time for the residents of Timbercreek to take action and insist that Nassau County place speed tables throughout our neighborhood. I suggest speed tables as speed bumps cause motorists to slow down to about 5 mph where as speed humps and tables can allow responsible motorists to maintain speeds under 30 MPH.
Lastly I am also requesting that Nassau County Also install Yield signs at all cross walks to remind motorists that they need to keep an eye out for pedestrians in this residential area.
With the trend of speeding in our neighborhood a tragedy is bound to happen. Let's not wait until someone has been seriously injured to take action.
** Note I am not a part of the Timbercreek HOA. I am a resident who lives ON Timbercreek who witnesses speeders all day everyday.
