Hastings road Banbury is a speed strip because it's on a hill. Children play amongst the parked car and animals cross the road. Today we lost our cat the third in a year . How long till a child is knocked down . I would like to propose to Cherwell city council that they put either higher speed bumps or chicanes at least three to slow down the cars. And more speed awareness signs

The momentum we have built proves that the people of this neighborhood are done waiting for Cherwell City Council to act. These officials have ignored our safety for too long but they cannot hide from this growing demand for speed bumps now.

Traffic calming initiative needed in this area. Bad enough losing family pets, but it shouldn't get to the point that a child gets injured or worse for action to happen.
I loved Spice with all my heart I could never see a life with her, she would tuck me in bed every night, I watched her being born in my wardrobe on April 16th 2010 and for the first 6 months of her life she didn't leave my room too scared to go into the outside world. I wish I had never taught her to go out otherwise my beautiful princess would be here now :'( this road has taken 2 of my cats in less than a month now I have one and I'm petrified to let him out I can't loose him too
It is supposed to be a 20 mph speed limit, but I have witnessed cars going way over the limit down there
I drive down this road very frequently from my daughters house, and it is particularly dangerous. People drive so fast and dangerously without a thought for anyone else. Shame on the people who knocked this cat down, and those that drove round it, and left the poor thing to die. It needs something to slow cars down, because next time it could be a child.
Something needs to be done due to the wreckless driving. .I live in the street and traffic is too fast and easy for people to speed ...which has sadly resulted in a loss of several pets...This is a street full of families with children next time it could be a child. .
Stop speeding now.
Speeding should not be tolerated on any road apart from motorways & then speed limit be adhered to. Its bad enough losing a beloved pet , I have 3 cats & live on Causeway , I won't let them out until late evening , thankfully they don't stray from back garden, but It could be a child next .

Sorry for your loss. I would love more than anything for there to be more speed bumps, cameras etc on certain roads and for it to be illegal not to stop when hitting a cat. Honestly, in my opinion, I don't think anything will get done about it but I will sign as a cat lover and having experienced this same thing one too many times! RIP Spice x
