Hello to all past, present, and future Friars. My name is Patrick Sheridan and I believe that Providence College needs to get another dog. Having a dalmatian, both on campus and as a mascot, was a unique tradition to PC that shouldn't die out because of lack of interest. I think an institution that charges sixty thousand dollars PER STUDENT PER YEAR can find the resources to maintain a domesticated pet. Also, I feel like we can all agree that we need a mascot change. Or if not a change, at least something to balance out our current Friar who is, according to ABC sports, a symbol of "unmatched and unapologetic creepiness". A dog would simply be better; think about the children. I am not the only person with this opinion, Cox Sports writer and longtime PC sports fanatic Daniel James has also drafted a petition to bring the Dalmatian back.
