I Molly Lybrook, of Fairfield, am petitioning to keep my crown. As you know I was crowned Miss 4th of July on June 27, 2015 at the Winslow Junior High School.

For those of you who have heard, there has been descrepancies in the pageant that was held.

I was contacted after I had won and was informed I either had to be stripped of my crown or have to share it. Supposedly there was an error with the math.

Due to the fact that this was unethical and poorly handled at the time, I petition I keep my crown and shall not pay for others mistakes in any way.

Thank you for your time and support!

Molly Lybrook

The current level of support confirms that there is significant public interest in how this pageant was administered. I have officially requested a meeting with the organizers to review the original scoring audit and present these results to them.

whether she "was supposed" to win or not, they gave her the crown. why did they randomly feel the need to recount? they should have double checked before the crown was given. thats on them not on molly. they never should have "recounted" after the fact. something seems fishy

This is a horrible thing to do. It happened to me when I was a child. If you could not get the right answer during the pageant then maybe someone else should run it. VERY VERY SAD! Good Luck Molly!

Every girl dreams to be in that moment. To strip her of the crown would be un ethical since it was not her error. I say get new judges next year that know how to add. It's unbelievable they think they could ask a young lady to give up something worked so hard for. Not her mistake. Let her keep her crown.

It is not this young lady's fault that an error was made in calculations. Do the right thing and continue to allow Miss Lybrook to retain her crown and the honors that accompany the title!

Unbelievable! These people are running a pageant and made a math error!?! Are you kidding me?!?! I suggest next time they double or even triple check their math before submitting their answer. Molly you alone should be allowed to keep the crown they declared to be yours.

Please know I attended the pageant and I had no idea who Molly was. She stood out in my eyes in her age group and there was no doubt in my mind she would be crowned. When I learned on FB she had not won I could not believe it! I strongly feel Molly keeps her crown.

Let the original winner. Molly Lybrook just keep the crown, afterall, she was chosen first, first come first serve.

She won, FAIR AND SQUARE. Just because they made a mistake and because they can't count she shouldn't lose her crown!
