She won, FAIR AND SQUARE. Just because they made a mistake and because they can't count she shouldn't lose her crown!

While I'd usually be open to a petition such as this, by refusing to share this crown with the actual winner, Molly's demonstrated a lack of compassion for others. She doesn't deserve to wear this crown, and instead should be wearing a paper crown from Burger King. Shame on Molly.

Great idea Jessica gagnon Crowell! Let's just accept the fact that SHE IS THE PRETEND WINNER! Because it's not good for they're psych..SHES 17!! The real winner is 14.. I think her mind is already messed up by the actions she's taken. Let's talk about the REAL WINNERS PSYCH? What about how she feels. The best thing for both parties is to SHARE THE CROWN!! But nooooo little miss 2nd place couldn't do that. And I'm strictly speaking from a former boyfriend of a Miss Maine POV

As a former pageant contestant, title holder, runner-up, pageant committee member, and pageant organizer, this should NEVER have happened. Whether or not there was foul play, Molly should not be stripped of her title and they should create a new title for Caitlin. Also, I would look into the accountant and pageant organizer. If anyone should be stripped of a title, it should be them. Next year, this pageant should be put in some else's hands. One last thing, so many girls dream of holding a title and to strip someone of it, well, it is harmful to their psyche. Remember, these girls are only 14 and 17 years-old. Please think of them when you comment.

I can't believe people are commenting that "she won" and that she should "keep her crown" . If she won she would have had the majority of the votes, and she didn't. You lost Molly be a big girl and accept it. Unfortunately, they didn't do a recount before they crowned you, but mistakes happen. If you get a million dollar deposit in the bank do you get to keep it because the bank made an error? All of you people really believe that mistakes shouldn't be corrected they should just be ignored. How unfair to the other girl? So you're all saying they should have never told the other girl that she really won just let it go. I can't imagine you still want the crown after finding out you got it by a mistake not a real win. Bow out gracefully before you make yourself look worse. What parent would let their daughter be so self centered its unbelievable to me.

You should be ashamed of yourself for the way you are acting - Childish, Selfish, Pitiful and full of yourself! I wouldn't have posted this had you been gracious and shared the crown but what you said about it being mine and other comments makes you sound like a self entitled brat! I hope you don't plan on joining future pagents because they will eat you alive with an attitude like that! It's about being gracious and giving and setting a prime example for girls/women out there.

You're acting like a spoiled brat who clearly wouldn't be deserving of the crown in the first place, even if you had rightfully won, which you did not. Mistakes happen. The judges had a miscount, yes. but that shouldn't mean the girl that rightfully won shouldn't get the crown. Either give it up or share it, but it's not yours to begin with. You mean you never made an error before? But then maybe you wouldn't be honest about it, like they were. I hope you learn an important life lesson. This attitude of yours doesn't deserve a crown.

My heart goes out to this beautiful young lady. This is so unprofessional and as far as I'm concerned very immoral... This never should of happened. I also question, what was the reason that the votes were even recounted.... I would assume that people in this position, would never Crown a winner without knowing 100% who it was. If the other girl did indeed win..then shame on the people who did this. Its Not this innocent young lady, Molly, that caused this, asked for this or contributed to this. there should be no anger at Molly. I don't know her but I do know what is right and what is wrong. She is also a very wonderful lady and my heart breaks for her. Things were Not handled right by the Pageant organizers and now these girls are paying.

Why would you want to keep something that you actually did not win? And if others should pay for their mistakes what about the actual winner of the crown? That poor girl actually did win the crown that you are trying to Keep. It truly is not yours. Your morals and attitude are unbecoming of such an award. Your actions are so sad. Do the right thing even if it is hard.

I don't know Molly or the other girl. I do know Winslow though. I ask why was there a recount to begin with? What was 'their' motivation? I smell a "WINSLOW" 'raider at work. sorry but that's my opinion.
Molly, keep your crown, you earned it fair and square. This is one of many lessons we learn in life. It's not always fair, not right, but learning from that is a huge challenge to our youth. I stand by your decision however, I would NOT be a part of the Winslow event or events if I were you. Make a statement better by staying out and holding your earned Crown. Good luck in life.

Why would you want the crown knowing you didn't win it???? Absolutely not you shouldn't even have the choice to share it.. They came to you doing what they thought was fair and you are just ungrateful..I think now after seeing your reaction they should take that crown away completely.. You just proved you don't deserve it

Are you kidding me???? If you were running for any other office (and yes this is the same thing as you ran for Miss 4th of July) and there was a miscount YOU would not be given the vote in spite of the recount...In a recount when they see there was an error the real winner gets the position not the won who thought they won...regardless of the tantrums thrown. And to say everyone is backing you in your interview....I hate to burst your bubble but that is a bold face fib and you know it (well except for your own family and friends) of course...Be real young lady...
