The city counsel of Columbia Mo is making laws we don’t need for problems we don’t have, with solutions we didn’t ask for. Sign this petition to tell them they need to quit being dumb and leave us the hell alone. All we want is a few more cops, lower utility bills, and free parking. For the love of god stop it with all your do good nonsense policies. We’re already stressed, local businesses are dropping like flies, money is tighter than ever, rent is higher than ever, and cost of living is among the highest in the state. Now they want to kill the only thing that we have left. Cheap beer. Some do good ass hat decided that they are tired of your drinking habits and that they know what’s best for your life so they made an ordinance to regulate your choice for you. Bars and restaurants are the only industry left in Columbia. They are the only entertainment. This policy doesn’t affect college kids only, it affects the entire city. This policy is bad for business and bad for Columbia. Sign this petition to tell them you don’t support the drink specials ban and to leave your cheap beer alone!

I honestly cannot believe how fast this is moving since I just wanted to vent about the beer situation but now it feels like the whole city is finally tired of the nonsense. It is wild to see everyone else feeling just as frustrated about these ridiculous rules because for a second I thought maybe I was the only one paying attention to how much they keep messing with everything.

As a working chef in Columbia, I'm standing in solidarity with the restaurateurs and businesses in this town. Prohibition won't change how people choose live, but it will affect the livelihood of the restaurant community.

I don’t drink. However if this passes I will vote against whoever votes for it next election. Fix the roads, fund the schools, increase first responders’ pay all things which need more attention this drink specials.

The City should be thankful for the revenue and quit trying to keep people at home. People go out, spend money and the city makes money. Take this away and it’s easier to stay home, businesses close and they city loses money. Uber, lyft, and cabs are highly popular.

I understand trying to keep people safe, especially in a college town that thrives on nightlife, but these restrictions will only hurt small local businesses that depend on weekly specials to get patrons into their establishments.

I hate what the town I grew up in is becoming. Downtown is littered with horrific looking apartment complexes. Now you want to take away drink specials at our favorite watering holes? Ridiculous!

I work every day till 10:30 I'm. My favorite bar has happy hour from 10pm - 1am. This bill is going to impact my paycheck a lot. I'm a townie so I have to be here all year and will be effected more than college students. I don't even go downtown.

Please stay away from drinking holes, and leave the laws as they were. Banning happy hours will only hurt local businesses.
