To the Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Canoe Club.
We the undersigned strongly oppose the proposed development of an international sized all-weather hockey pitch within a conservation area of nature importance.
We ask that the Council do not take any further steps to develop the existing site in this way and that another, more suitable, site is located and used for this purpose.
We ask that the biodiversity function of the GLA investigate the fauna and flora for the area in question.
The momentum behind this campaign proves the community will not stand by while our local greenspace is threatened. Email your local councillor today to demand a formal review of the site usage. Post our petition link to your Facebook feed right now so we keep this pressure on the Council.

This is a conservation area for a reason. Keep the pitch away from the wildlife we have so little green space left as it is.

Completely agree with this. That spot is for nature not for big concrete pitches. Very bad choice of location.

Needs to be protected. The council needs to listen to the residents for once.

Ridiculous idea. The traffic and noise will ruin everything for people living nearby. Find somewhere else!
