Due to travel during Spring Break and the widespread threat of COVID-19, this is a petition to have Western Illinois University switch to online courses for a 14-day period following Spring Break to prevent the spread of diseases and a potential outbreak due to tight class-room spaces and lack of sanitary supplies on campus.

I'm a commuter. So, I'm more afraid of the possibility of bringing it home to my sister who has Type 1 diabetes. I could care less if I get sick but I don't want to have to go to school and have the possibility of infecting her.

I don’t want to get sick & I don’t believe the University cleans well enough or disinfects enough. Also lots of kids go to school from Chicago where they shut down the St. Patty’s Parade due to 19 cases there. I know I won’t die but I refuse to get sick.

I am concerned about attending classes once students return to spring break. Not only for my own safety, but especially because my young son has diabetes and is at higher risk of contracting this virus.

I do agree that we should delay face to face interaction for the next 2weeks. Considering I travel via Amtrak to school I am very concerned about the virus being transmitted being in close proximity with such a large amount of people.

We do not need to have a widespread disease for coronavirus on campus especially in the classrooms. We have alot of people that is going to florida, California and even out of the country. This could really help and be beneficial to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

I have severe asthma and really bad allergies. It takes over a week to show symptoms which are very similar to allergies minus a fever. This needs to be taken seriously

As a fellow student (of another school) I will gladly support this cause. Just because education is important doesn't mean that it's a good reason to risk your or other's health.
