SUSPENSION BRIDGE CLOSED UNTIL AT LEAST NOVEMBER 2009 Wilford Suspension Bridge was suddenly closed on 22nd July 2008. We learnt in January 2009 that work on repairing the bridge will now not start until May and will not be completed until late autumn. It is therefore very important to make the bridge owners, Severn Trent Water Plc., aware of the strength of feeling caused by the bridge’s closure and the further disruption to come, for example, disruption to major sporting events.
