I strongly agree that Johns Island roads put all residents and the larger community at risk. Pre-approved development will increase the population on Johns Island placing added stress on drivers and our roads which were built in the 1700s. I strongly urge Charleston County Council to act now on the Sea Islands Greenway by approving the following recommendations of The LPA Group, Charleston County’s transportation engineering firm. The recommendations are: 1.) Request Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Government (BCDCOG) to place the Greenway on the region’s long range transportation plan. 2.) Explore a public and private sector partnership. 3.) Seek federal funding for possible short term safety improvement.
