Mrs. Hannah Hardin-Pratt William Samuel Pratt, my 3 month old son, died on Feb 2, 2009 in the home of his babysitter Martha J. Farris. Mrs. Farris runs an in-home unlicensed daycare. She came highly recommended and offered care to several children of various age ranges. The Farris household charged a $44 minimum per week giving parents the option to drop off or pick up their children at various times. The tragedy of my son's death did not hinder Martha Farris from offering care to children. Sadly, no state law is in place to keep a woman under investigation for murder from watching children in her home. After a long investigation Martha J. Farris was finally arrested in July. Only days later, She posted a $50,000 cash only bond and returned running her unlicensed daycare.
