This community-driven project represents the very best in public and private partnerships, an open planning process and how to take a long-term, master plan approach to developing public spaces.
As the Irving Schoolyard Project moves forward with efforts to raise both public and private contributions, I support this project. I am aware that Oak Park has a limited amount of public funding for projects across the community, and I strongly believe this project should be made a priority.
For over 50 years, this heavily used outdoor public space has been largely ignored, receiving very little upkeep or improvement. The time is now to make an investment that not only serves to improve Irving School, but would bring much needed recreational space to the whole community.

im spending all my time right now emailing people in the district office to make sure they see how many people want this schoolyard fixed. honestly its been a lot of waiting but the momentum from everyone signing keeps me going.

im honestly blown away by how much this has taken off lately. seeing so many people rally behind the schoolyard project makes me think we might actually get this done for the neighborhood.

we are getting so high on the count and need just a few more sigs to hit that first hundred milestone. if you have a neighbor who hasn't seen this yet send them the link because it really helps us prove how many people want this park fixed.

The yard has been a mess for years. Kids deserve somewhere nice to play after school.
SO NEEDED. The neighborhood needs a decent place for the kids to run around outside.
Finally! This area has been ignored forever. Lets get it done.
My kids go here and it is just dirt and broken asphalt. Put some money into our schoolyards for once.
Been watching this space fall apart since my own kids were there. Dont let it go another year.
