On 1st September 2013, the Learning Disability supported living service in Doncaster which cares for vunerable adults in their own homes was taken over by private company Care Uk. In the months that followed Care Uk have slashed the Terms and conditions of the employees who transferred over from the previous service provider - the NHS. Since February the dedicated workers have taken numerous periods of strike action, not only in defence of their Ts&Cs, but to demand a living wage for all employees and a meaningful pay rise across the board, yet this multi million pound company refuse to change their stance. The workers are not only fighting for themselves, but for the people they support and to put a stop to the continued privatisation of NHS services. Please take a little time to sign this petition and support the highly trained, dedicated and experienced CARE UK STRIKERS and call upon the government to save our valueble NHS. You can support the workers via their facebook page at: https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1465854936976109 Thank you

It is imperative, for the sake of those being cared for, that they receive good quality care from experienced and trained carers. This will not happen with those replacing current staff. Workers should not be treated in such a callous and cavalier manner as these people are!

These guys have given years of dedicated unconditional care to folk with learning disability. They have accepted I the past continual pay freezes without complaint. If they wear paid waht they were worth then they should get a rise, not a pay cut.

This is part of the grand privatisation of the NHS. Care UK have already hived off a £milions to their parent company by slieght of hand (including tax avoidance/evasion). It's our NHS it must be protected evasion) and now

Cuts to the pay and conditions of dedicated care workers is an attack on a group of people who are already under paid and often undervalued. It is also an attack on the disabled adults for whom they care. We need investment in such services, not a race to the bottom.

This is such a complex, responsible and exhausting job and those who do it deserve a living wage and respect from theit employer. Yours in solidarity

My son has learning disabilities and I would not want inexperienced staff caring for him also I would not want him to be cared for by a profit making company save the n.h.s

So it appears that Care UK don't really care. Maybe they ought to change their name to show people their true colours? Who'd've thought that selling off the NHS would be such a bad idea?
