It appears that the next target for Isle of Wight councillors is reducing the salary of certain care workers and floating bridge staff in order to facilitate the privatisation of these services. Wages are to be cut by 20 to 30 per cent in April 2012, terms conditions and enhancements changed, with a view to making these services more attractive to prospective purchasers. If you value your local services please sign this petition and lobby your local Isle of Wight councillor.

Ridiculous to cut pay for people who look after others. They work hard enough as it is without some office drone slashing their wages.

Keep the bridge public. You lot are destroying everything that actually works on this island for profit.

Total disgrace. My grandmother relies on those care workers every single day.

STOP THE PRIVATIZATION NOW. The bridge is a lifeline for us commuters and we dont want some firm raising prices and cutting corners.

Fix the bridge instead of selling it off to the highest bidder. Local services belong to the public not the bosses.
