We, the undersigned who live, work or own property in the City of Connellsville, support Connellsville's proposed abandoned and vacant structures ordinance. We support that owners of vacant or abandoned buildings in Connellsville register with the city, open their property for inspection, and maintain the structure inside and out for the health and welfare of the publicand post with contact information for emergency responders who may have to enter the property.

I have been walking down our streets and looking at these crumbling buildings with a new sense of urgency lately. People keep stopping me to share their own stories about how these neglected properties are impacting the safety of our neighborhood. I am currently gathering all these accounts to present before the council so they understand this is about our daily lives.

Seeing this level of support for our neighborhoods proves that I am not the only one tired of watching our city crumble. This momentum shows that the people who actually live here care deeply about our streets and demand better from property owners.

About time. These eyesores are dragging the whole town down and lowering our property values.
for the safety of our firemen alone this should have happened already. they need to know what they are walking into.
Ridiculous that the city hasnt done this years ago. Stop letting these slumlords get away with it.
I live right next to a vacant house and it is a nightmare. Tall grass and broken windows everywhere. DO SOMETHING.
Finally! my street is full of these falling down houses and the people who own them dont even live in this state. make them pay up.
