The council granted the license after everything we went through. It was a long road to get here and I am relieved we finally have the approval we needed. We will be watching to make sure the transition happens smoothly.

The response to this application has been heavier than I expected and the momentum feels real. It is exhausting work but seeing this level of backing from the community makes the struggle feel worth the effort.

Sad to hear this place is under threat. Visited several times with my fella and enjoyed it so much. A quirky little place that had heaps of personality . Something different and a welcome addition to Leigh.

Each application should be viewed on its own merits. Clearly the pub is aimed at more responsible drinkers so ca't see a problem. Look how well 'The Firkin' in Newton le Willows has done.

Rather than a blanket ban on licences the Council should consider each on its own mergers and look at potential clientele and type of establishment.

These type of small hostlries led to the great British pub which are now in decline, maybe these are what the public need to get local towns social again. Wigan need to rethink the closure.

This policy is really misguided. A great brewery Hophurst has also been denied a micro pub in Wigan. These places do not attract louts and the Council need to recognise this.

The council should focus on closing down the establishments where all of the trouble is happening rather than tien down licensing applications for small businesses that will add value to the town and attract people to the area who.like a quite relaxing drink.

Smaller towns in the borough need diversity in order to remain vibrant - diversity which can only be provided by small, independent businesses such as this one.

This well run establishment caters for the discerning drinker who relishes every drop of the real ales provided , people who like a chat without head banging music and know when it is time to go home. Common sense suggests that the license should have been approved without hesitation. It seems strange when licenses are given to some of the dubious premises in the area that pack them in then throw them out when they are incapable of spending more money.
