Support Safe & Reliable Transportation for UPK and School-Age Kids in Smithtown!

We, the parents of Smithtown, are calling on the district to urgently revise its transportation policy to provide bus services to licensed before and after care facilities for UPK and school-age children. The recent closure of Children of America daycare has left families scrambling for care and transportation solutions, with no other daycares in the area offering both services. This is an emergency for working parents, and we need immediate action to ensure our children can safely get to and from school and daycare.
We ask the Smithtown School District to:
- Add transportation to licensed daycares that are located within the Town of Smithtown, to address the immediate needs of families affected by the closure.
- Implement a long-term policy change allowing for transportation to licensed child care facilities for UPK and school-age students to address future high-need situations.
Help us create a system that supports working families and keeps our kids safe! Sign this petition to show your support for updating the district’s transportation policies and ensuring accessible care for all students.
