Parkside Childcare Center currently serves 73 Sun Valley Elementary students and 14 Laurel Dell students. These students are children of working families who need childcare arrangements after school. It is imperative to have safe, supervised transfer of students from their elementary schools to the Center. Further, due to a lack of onsite childcare at these two schools, we believe it is the responsibility of the San Rafael School District and City of San Rafael to provide equal service to the Laurel Dell community of families and to the Sun Valley community of families relative to other schools in the district. The following support the reinstatement and continuous, uninterrupted service of the Parkside Child Care bussing arrangements at the same cost that parents throughout the district pay to have their children transported after school. Further, it is requested that this matter be handled in a timely manner to reassure these families of the security of their children.
