Before and After School Care and Watertown Bus Transportation for River Oak Academy, llc. Watertown, CT
ABOUT THE CAUSE: River Oak Academy is a new child care center for early learning located at 795 Straits Turnpike in Watertown, CT serving children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Our facility will be opening this summer and is petitioning to the Watertown Board of Education to offer a before and after school program with bus transportation to Watertown schools. The program would accept children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We need to provide a list of supporters that agree that this service would be of great value to our Watertown families.
WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE: By delivering this petition to the Watertown Board of Education we are hoping that our school will be approved to be on the bus route and provide transportation services within the Watertown Public School District.

The volume of support for this transportation request has reached a level that warrants a formal meeting with the Watertown Board of Education. I am currently finalizing the presentation materials and gathering the data points necessary to secure a spot on the next board meeting agenda.

As a preschool educator in a surrounding town, this is a service that so many families need and benefit from. A handful of the children that come, their parents are educators as well and if they teach younger children such as elementary school, they are not able to be home in time to get their children off the bus. Having them be able to go to a program like this gives them a peace of mind, an ability to stay in their professional for a reasonable cost to send their child to an after school program and a chance to let their child interact with their friends outside of their regular school setting. Watertown would benefit greatly having this available for it’s local families.
Working parents have such a hard time finding transportation options for the younger kids. Hope this goes through soon.
Finding reliable care for my kids before work is a nightmare. This would really help us out.
This would be fantastic as there is such limited before and aftercare available for Watertown schools!
