Our vision is to create a significant cultural destination in Richmond, on the banks of the River Thames to showcase the art of local and international artists with a particular emphasis on maritime and river themes to reflect the riverside location of The Boathouse Gallery.
Replacing the existing boathouse that is unused and in need of investment, the Boat House Gallery will be private but open to public displaying both pictures and sculptures but also showing other works of the visual arts, holding music or poetry readings events and enabling live performances.
Our aim is to develop associations with galleries such as the Tate Modern to provide space for them to hold exhibitions at The Boat House Gallery. However, we also want to support and promote local artists and would be providing complementary exhibition space during the year for them to display their art.
We are not novices at operating a gallery. We already operate a similar successful gallery in Paris and New York and have done so since 2006.

The local planning board is still stalling while this prime riverfront space sits rotting and empty. We have the track record and the vision to transform this site, yet these bureaucrats refuse to see the value in a world-class cultural hub for Richmond.

This would be brilliant, working in the art & design industry myself I feel any chance that upcoming artists having an opportunity to show their work is brilliant, and in such beautiful surroundings
Sounds like a great use of a beautiful location and I'm super keen to find a contemporary art network for children's education in Richmond.
This is a good cause, we need Art to be available to all, this location screams out, The Boathouse Gallery, especially as the Art in question covers maritime and river themes,.
This would be a lovely cultural addition to RIchmond and i wholly support the idea. Also the Boathouse currently there needs work.
Always wondered why there wasn't a decent art gallery in Richmond and excited to see these plans

This is a great idea to give an opportunity to new unknown local photographers and artists to showcase there work. Living and photographing in the area, it would be something I would be very interested in getting involved with.
