Dear Cambridge Arts Council, Since its beginnings in 2004, Gallery 263 has helped make Cambridgeport a more vibrant neighborhood by providing a space in which to enjoy art exhibits by both professional and student artists, as well as a wide range of events, including hands-on workshops taught by neighborhood artists, musical performances, film screenings, stand-up comedy, yoga classes, and even Halloween parties! The gallery also offers a creative space for area businesses and schools to rent for off-site functions. In these and other ways, Gallery 263 has provided Cambridgeport--and the wider Boston area--a nexus at which to engage with art and interact with each other in ways that enhance our sense of community and expand our horizons. As a nonprofit organization, Gallery 263 needs your support to continue its work. We, the signers of this petition, wish to let you know that we too support the gallery and recognize and appreciate its value to our community. Please fund Gallery 263 so that it can continue to offer these important events and resources.
