"William Blake, Poet, Artist, Visionary, created some of the most iconic images in British art. Radical and rebellious, he is an inspiration to visual artists, musicians, poets and performers worldwide." Tate Britain.

Blake's last surviving London house, 17 South Molton Street W1K 5QT, is currently under renovation as a private luxury apartment. We propose it should be transformed, instead, into an international heritage centre to honour his life and work and inspire future generations.

As the William Blake Fellowship, a registered charity, we have been liaising with the owners, Grosvenor Property UK, to develop a business plan and explore funding options.

However, this is a lengthy process, and in the meantime, work continues on no17 as a private residence.

William Blake, author of England’s “unofficial national anthem,” “Jerusalem,” and great English artist, poet and philosopher, deserves to have his only surviving house in London, 17 S. Molton St., become a dedicated museum/cultural center NOT TURNED INTO LIXURY FLATS!!!!

Preserving William Blake's house as a cultural centre is imperative in this time and age when the dark clouds of ignorance and aggressiveness are gathering. More than ever before humankind needs to be reminded of its own humanity, the human form divine that Blake extolled.

William Blake’s last remaining London home must be saved and turned into an artist’s house museum, not a luxury private apartment. Blake is one of Britain’s greatest poets / artists and 17 South Molton Street is a vital part of London’s cultural heritage.

This is one of the most important figures in English and global history. Help to keep the house and the story for future generations. It has the Great potential to draw in international visitors much like Mozart in Vienna, Anne Frank in Amsterdam etc

The heritage of William Blake is of inestimable values, the future generations Hase the right to know us much us possible about this great soul. The place where he lived should be kept like sanctuary of a big visionary. I am from France and I care, why not you?
