The volume of support has now reached a point where it warrants a formal presentation to the School Climate Committee. I am currently drafting a letter to board members outlining our request for a review of the curriculum policy. Expect an update once a meeting time is confirmed.

Obviously most know this is about my child. However it is for all Nova students and will help Nova to become an even better place. Thank you to all who have supported.
Without the virtues of tolerance and empathy, fortitude and perseverance are an exercise in self-congratulation, prudence turns to fear, and justice is downright impossible. I am deeply saddened by the necessity of this petition.
Make all children welcome! Nova's teachers are well versed in offering conscientious, efficient and factual information on many subjects. Trust them to handle this situation in the same manner.
To think this is not a good idea for a child that is struggling is short sighted and a disservice to that child. I do not understand why anyone would be opposed to a book that may help a child, who may feel ostracized from the students. This is an opportunity for the school to educate. I fully support this book.
I support reading this (or a similar book). A book provides the teachers with context to help draw the lines from theoretical to practical when discussing a vulnerable group of children.
I am in favor of using materials such as this as part of the curriculum. Teaching and promoting tolerance, understanding, and inclusion will better our school community and our community beyond.
Please don't let discrimination and fear rule our schools.

As a female mechanical engineer, I can relate to the intolerance by some against those of us who do not fit the traditional ideas of gender roles. I fully support this child and support including gender non-conformity into the anti-bullying curriculum.
