I am in favor of using materials such as this as part of the curriculum. Teaching and promoting tolerance, understanding, and inclusion will better our school community and our community beyond.

I am in full support of any materials that will support conversations about respect and tolerance for others, including this particular title.

I am disappointed that this petition is needed and fully support your decision to read "My Princess Boy" or any other book that educates students on maintaining an inclusive environment to ALL students at Nova. Everyone should be treated with respected and should be accepted for being who they are.

My purpose in signing this petition is to create a safe and loving world by teaching others to be supportive and honest . Also, in signing this I want to support the first part of the Nova mission statement which is to have a supportive community. Thank you!

Understanding of others can only be achieved by learning. Therefore, I fully support the reading of "My Princess Boy" to the students of Nova.

As a female mechanical engineer, I can relate to the intolerance by some against those of us who do not fit the traditional ideas of gender roles. I fully support this child and support including gender non-conformity into the anti-bullying curriculum.

Supportive of the idea although I would explore other books as well. Good luck.

I fully support this book and also believe only good will come from it. That compassion is a learned skill and through this lives could potentially be benefitted.

It boggles the mind that there are parents opposed to helping their children understand kindness toward others. I fully support your decision to read "My Princess Boy" to students at Nova.

What is most egregious is that this is still an issue and that we are steadfast in our denial of its self-evident solution.

While we are disappointed that a petition like this would be necessary, our family is extremely moved by this show of support. Our son, and all children, should be welcomed and accepted for who they are at a public school. These kind and welcoming comments help alleviate some of the pain caused by the hurtful comments made at last Monday's "Listening Session". It is nice to know we have support from other families in the Nova community! We absolutely support the reading of "My Princess Boy" or any other book that educates students about steps they can take to maintain a gender inclusive environment at Nova.

Obviously most know this is about my child. However it is for all Nova students and will help Nova to become an even better place. Thank you to all who have supported.

I think you are selling your children short by not using this book as a teaching tool. My kindergarten granddaughter tells me that prudence is thinking about things and making good decisions. If this is true, why don't you allow a book to be the teaching tool it is. Listen to the children. They are much wiser than adults when it comes to fairness and empathy. I know this to be true because I taught first grade for 33 years.

No person should be picked on for any reason. Everything should be done to ensure that no one is made to feel excluded or less of a person for their choices in life. Our whole society is based on everyone being different yet we all exist as one whole.

Without the virtues of tolerance and empathy, fortitude and perseverance are an exercise in self-congratulation, prudence turns to fear, and justice is downright impossible. I am deeply saddened by the necessity of this petition.
