This petition has been created to demonstrate to Councilmember Rivera and the Zoning Board that there is strong support for our brewpub project at 38 Tremont.

Buffalo's westside is a vibrant and diverse community that has undergone many changes in recent years, and continues to evolve. As longtime residents of this neighborhood, this has been exciting to witness. But amid these changes, the westside has retained the character and charm that drew us in years ago. We believe that this is equally important - if not more so - to the renaissance the community has seen. After all, it is what made and continues to make it such a special place to live. This is why we are so passionate about our vision for 38 Tremont - we are not only eager to be part of these changes and continue this growth, but we know that our brewpub will capture and accentuate the essence and vibrance that has made this neighborhood what it was and continues to be today.

A husband and wife team with combined experience that includes over 13 years in the brewing industry, event and business management, we feel we are uniquely qualified to execute our vision for 38 Tremont - bringing a new look and feel to an age-old industry. 38 Tremont is a hidden gem on the westside, located between Bird and Forest avenues. It is setback from Forest by an empty lot, and is across the street from The Buffalo History Museum Resource Center - a sizable brick building. The property houses a small 1,600 square foot commercial building surrounded by a 9,500 square foot paved lot. Reimagining the way this property looks and operates, we plan to incorporate our lifelong dream of owning and operating our own brewpub with our love and respect for green spaces. We will reclaim most of the paved lot, transforming it into a park-like setting composed primarily of plants native to WNY. Turning the property into a focal point, rather than an eye sore.

For decades, 38 Tremont has been used for commercial purposes and we look to continue using it as a commercial property for our brewpub project. This is where we have hit a speed bump - regardless of past use, the property is technically zoned residential so we cannot execute our vision without first obtaining a use variance.

This is why we need your help. We are appealing to you to offer your signature in support of our brewpub project.

My family would be thrilled to warmly welcome this business to the neighborhood. This type of locally-owned business development is exactly the kind of thing we would love to support and patronize together. Neighbors and friends, please support the transformation of this derelict eyesore to a beautified and contributing family establishment.

Neighborhood breweries broadly have been shown to improve the safety and community in neighborhoods. As a small, third space concept run by a compassionate, thoughtful and hyper local couple who makes tremendous beer, this project seems like a great addition to the neighborhood. The West Side has a good and recent history of successful, welcoming breweries from the original Community Beer Works opening in 2012 to Autark of today.

I live around the corner from this location, and I work in the craft beer industry. I think this is an amazing idea for our neighborhood!

Strongly support this. This area needs more business like this. Daniela just a block away is a MASSIVE success.

I'm a westside resident (14213) who lives just a few blocks from this site, and I support this project even though I'm not a beer drinker. Transforming this from the current blight that it is into a space boasting natural plant life instead of pavement is a win for everyone.

I live at 429 Bird and I support this project. I believe the city of Buffalo should embrace this kind of development. It will take a now mostly vacant lot and turn it into a neighborhood gathering place. With respect to garbage and noise I believe we live in the city of good neighbors and I’m sure this new establishment will manage those conditions.
