We, the undersigned HHC nurses, caregivers, patients, and community support the midwives of the North Bronx Healthcare Network. Midwives at North Central Bronx Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center have waited more than 5 yearsfor their first and only contract to be agreed upon. Meanwhile, we are losing experienced midwives and are unable to attract new ones. We need to continue to ensure the highest quality of care for the women and families of the Bronx that midwifery has been shown to provide.
