Thames Valley Midwives requires community support in requesting trained second attendants to assist us at both home and hospital deliveries. Second attendants are trained in neonatal resuscitation as well as in emergency skills such as CPR. Midwives require second attendants at birth to to care for newborns while they care for mothers who have just delivered. In order for Thames Valley Midwives to request approval from the College of Midwives of Ontario for the utilization of second attendants, we must acquire twenty signatures demonstrating support. Please sign our petition so that we can continue to provide excellent care for you and your growing family!

It is a waste of woman-power to haul a second midwife out of bed to attend a hospital birth when there are highly capable registered nurses down the hall who could assist the midwife for a short time. Collaborating with nurses would also help with midwifery integration in the hospital setting.
Please fund for a qualified second at all births that midwifes are involved. Quality and safe patient care is essential!
Midwives need this support to ensure both baby and mother are happy and healthy, fully support this petition.
Would love to see this happen and midwifery care be available to even more mamas!
Midwifery care is in great demand in London, Ontario. Please allow Thames Valley Midwives to continue the good care they provide by allowing them the use of a trained second attendant.

As a nurse muself, and a mom that has had midwives at two of my births, I think this vollaberation should aready be a reality! We want the same thing for our moms!
