The John Carroll School's administration has decided to change the skirt policy for the 2016-2017 school year, outraging many female students. Administration's goal of having all skirts touch the knees is unrealistic and impractical. Many female students will be forced to buy brand new skirts, even seniors who have less than 9 months at JC. Even with these new guidelines, girls will continue to wear short skirts, and once a few students get away with short skirts the rest of the female student body will follow. Administration can not crack down on every single girl in the school for having what they consider an "inappropriate" length. Here is a petition of everyone who is against this new policy.
unfortunately, many of the students are still growing. The skirts that are the right length in 16/17 will be too short in 17/18. We cannot afford to buy skirts on a yearly basis.
