Hampshire County and Fareham Borough Councils keep ignoring our emails about the tree on Burnt House Lane. Their silence is a pathetic attempt to hide from the reality that they would rather destroy our history than preserve it.

We live in Burnt House Lane so will be sad to see this tree cut down. A carving would be lovely especially if linked to Stubbington as the one in Bell Lane is. It would give the end of Burnt House Lane & the tree a new lease of life.
I've seen beautiful old oaks like this in France,Spain,Portugal turned into living sculptures by wood cutter craftsmen, reducing the danger of falling branches, cutting down on leaf waste blocking drains etc;
Have walked and driven past this beautiful tree nearly every day for over 30 years please carve it into something beautiful so it goes on being part of Stubbington
Having lived in the village for most of my life it would be a great shame to lose such a lovely tree. I appreciate that it's root spread may be causing some issues but rather than simply cut it down a tree carving should be done to keep this landmark.
I would like a carving in the tree. I love the others in the local area. I particularly would like to see a bat sculpture as bats are endangered and not very often represented in art installations. Thanks.
Definitely carve it into something . Make a beautiful sculpture.
I go past this everyday to go to work would be lovely to see a carving!

It's been done previously in Stubbington by Jim Mowatt. It looks great as you walk by. So the precedent has already been set by the Council. Just do it!!
