BY THE RESIDENTS OF THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND NEIGHBORHOODS OF THE MCCLELLAN-PALOMAR AIRPORT, TO ENSURE NO INCREASED NOISE, HEALTH, SAFETY & TRAFFIC IMPACTS BY THE AIRPORT
The signers of this document do hereby petition the Carlsbad City Council Members, San Diego County Board of Supervisors, San Diego County Congressional Representatives, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), that the following Principals be safeguarded.
- That the McClellan-Palomar Airport be retained in its status as a small aviation airport with NO runway expansion, to protect the safety of the surrounding communities.
- That takeoff/landing patterns which minimize noise impact on residential neighborhoods and schools be strictly enforced by the FAA and mandatory quiet hours be implemented between 10pm and 6am.
- Preserve the current Carlsbad City Law which protects the health and quality of life of Carlsbad and surrounding communities.

Seeing one thousand signatures on this page brings a sense of relief because it proves I am not the only neighbor terrified by the constant roar over our homes. This community is clearly united in the belief that our safety comes before airport profits.

My family hears the roar of these engines every single night and we need more signatures before the upcoming council meeting. Getting to that first hundred mark will prove to the county that our neighborhood refuses to be ignored.

There are many family homes near this airport. We bought 21 years ago and we’re told no planes after 10pm. All planes were to fly out over the ocean and then turn. Now we have planes flying over us not follow flight patterns. No more planes. No more noise.
Compliance and enforcement of the approach flight path is absolutely dismal at this airport leading to multiple low-flying aircraft over dense residential areas every day. Adding larger planes will only compound this already dangerous situation.
Flight patterns at midnight, 1 AM always right close traffic. This is madness and something I’ve never experienced anywhere else. It’s a free-for-all airport once the tower closes at 10 PM. Quiet hours should be the bare minimum for civilized living.
The airport expansion is clearly a gift to the golf manufacturers who want to be able to fly direct to Asia. And they want the taxpayers to pay for it. This airport was never intended to be for long haul of commerial flights. Leave it alone!
We moved to N County for the quiet. Keep Palomar small. Don't ruin our homes by allowing pilots to do training circles on top of our houses and don't allow bigger and more jets to destroy what we have built and worked for. People can fly out of SD.
Horrible noise from private jets.
Right under the flight path. Toxic emissions will just increase. If we want to reduce csncer incidents we need to reduce toxins, not increase them for the "benefit" of a few.

We didn’t sign up to become an international airport when we moved here in 1984. Take your money and add a second on the way to Lindbergh field and then give us transportation from North County directly to the airport like other lesser cities have.
