We the undersigned wish to object to the planned 'Chinese Theme Park' at Pit-house West (the site of the former Brookhouse Colliery and Coke Ovens)near Rotherham.
We ask that Rotherham Borough Council abandon all development plans for this site. As an alternative the area should be managed as a nature reserve and incorporated into Rother Valley Country Park The footpaths, cycleways and fences, that have been neglected by RMBC, should be repaired and the area regularly patrolled by wardens (from RVCP).
Two hundred and fifty signatures. The message is starting to get through.

A theme park it is not. A Buddhist temple of worship were Australians, unless Buddhist, can't enter. The land owners in the area are residing councilors. Conflict of interest and nepotism at its highest level and being labelled racist for voicing our opinions and concerns defamatory. But I can't take legal action because I'm not affluent enough, should scare the entire community, as we the majority are being ignored and blackmailed as racists. I'm aboriginal, don't tell me about racism.

Ridiculous idea. We need green space not another tourist trap that nobody asked for. Leave it for the wildlife and the local people who actually use it.

Been walking these paths for 20 years. They are in a state because the council cant be bothered to look after them. A theme park is just absurd.

Just another way for the council to waste money. Pit house west is nice as it is, keep the developers away from our town.

The council officially abandoned the park plans. We won. Now we make sure the land actually stays a nature reserve.
