The Hillside Park Association comprises a component of the Hillside Vlei Wetland, a sensitive eco-system under section 26(3) of the Regional Townand Country planning act. Its a recreational park and include the land that has the Mukuvisi River flowing through it. The wetland regulates the flow of water from the catchment area into this river. The mukuvisi feeds into the Manyame River and Lake Chivero and is an important contributor to Harare's water supply. ACTION REQUIRED: We the undersigned residents object to the granting of the development of a wedding venue on cnr Brooks Drive & Chiremba Road in Hillside by the City of Harare. We urge the responsible authorities to act now to stop the development.

Updates

September 25, 2018

The ecological importance of the Hillside Vlei Wetland remains the central focus of our ongoing discussions with local authorities. We are currently compiling the technical evidence needed to demonstrate the impact this development would have on the Mukuvisi River catchment area. Your engagement provides the necessary foundation for these discussions.
