The city council confirmed this morning that traffic calming measures for Creswell and Highland will begin installation. This outcome reflects the pressure applied through our 195 signatures and the subsequent meetings with local officials. We will monitor the implementation process to ensure the promised infrastructure is completed as specified.

The citizens of South Highlands and adjacent neighborhoods emphatically require swift action be taken by our city government to identify and implement effective solutions to the problems of speeding in our community.

Speeding on Creswell and Highland has been a grave concern for quite some time. Most recently, our neighbor, Mr. Rodney Self was killed in a hit and run accident while walking his dog. Four years ago, near this same area, a speeder hit and broke a telephone poll.

NOW is the time to Stop the Speeding! By signing this petition, I agree speeding is a grave concern in our community. I emphatically require city officials identify and implement effective solutions to the problems of speeding in the South HIghland and adjacent neighborhood areas!

I live on Slattery Blvd. and we have witnessed a neighbor almost hit while crossing Creswell at Slattery. Crossing Creswell in a car is also challenging!

I grew up there and know that the street is wide which subconsciously encourages speeding. Modern traffic calming measures would make Creswell safer as a complete street for walking, cycling and driving. It’s a national hashtag. #SlowTheCars

I live on the 500 block of Elmwood, between Creswell and Highland. I love to jog and take my 5 month old son on stroller rides. The speeding on these streets is very unsafe and cause for concern.

Been raising concern for years. Spoken many times to police and city council rep. Nothing changes since the city does not have the police resources to enforce. Best option Video Surveillance for Traffic. Many cities have implement with very positive results. Good luck.

Rodney Self's vehicular homicide is a horrible horrible tragedy. Speed control should have been mandated years ago! I have for years maintained that traffic speed in the neighborhood was too often far in excess of safe limits.

This absolutely must stop. I live on the corner of College and Creswell and the amount of people who are going a lot faster than the 35mph posted speed are just ridiculous. I don't care that you're running late! Leave earlier! Lives should NOT be at stake due to these speeders.

Albert Av. has a LOT of speeders every day. Some are delivery drivers that work for Papa John's pizza at the corner of Albert Av. and Youree Drive.
