Cross streets are our neighborhood's where our kids play, adults walk and we all socialize. Speeding is and has been a problem for many years and an issue we are all concerned with. What we want is some type of physical deterrent added to our streets. This can be speed bumps, humps, mobile planters, narrowed streets, or curves added to streets. Speed studies have been done and have shown speeding is an issue and lowering the speed limit is only good for information, it is not a good physical deterrent. With the help from city councilors we can make change happen. Thank you for signing our petition.

Updates

The feedback I continue to receive confirms that unsafe traffic remains a major concern for residents in our neighborhood. I am currently reaching out to local officials to discuss potential infrastructure improvements that could serve as effective physical deterrents.

Even less expensive blinking speed detectors may help. Turkey Hill Rd us a nightmare with teens and the fact that it is a cut through to the industrial park.

Noble St is a speedway...with no sidewalks, so people are walking in the street. Just an accident waiting to happen...

We live on water street at the end of Bromfield street. People not only speed coming both ways but there have been so many accidents and near accidents from people pulling out of Bromfield due to speeding on Water street.

There should be a pedestrian corridor with 20 mph zones from Atkinson park to downtown. This could be regulated with speed tables and or speed bumps where appropriate. We need people to slow down before something aweful that could be prevented happens.

Jefferson is a popular cut through street between Merrimack and High - cars literally fly up and down it - a lot of young families on the street - kids on foot, on bikes, walking dogs, etc. looking for some help!

We need something to stop the danger present in our cross streets everyday, it's only a matter of time until serious injury.
