To Rowan County Department of Planning and development.

This is a petition against the application: CUP 03-19 Cooperative Solar, d.b.a China Grove Solar LLC, proposes to develop a 65 megawatt (AC) ground mounted solar energy system on approximately 428 acres owned by Big Harry LLC, Mia Holshouser, and Bryan Bradshaw generally located along sections of the 700-2300 Block of Neel Rd., 5000 Block of Sherrills Ford Rd., and the 200 - 500 Block of Old Bradshaw Rd. Further referenced as tax parcels 456-104, 456-151, and 458-003.

The Rowan County Department of Planning is still hiding behind bureaucratic procedure while China Grove Solar LLC eyes our land like it is just another empty lot. They think we will walk away if they delay long enough but they are dead wrong about our resolve to protect this wildlife habitat.

There may be a place for mega solar transmitting projects (Desert?), but not in an area that will harm wildlife, kill rare vegetation, stunt historic preservation and bring horrible hazards to aviation!

No solar farm needs to be in beautiful western Rowan county. Especially an area filled with families, animals, churches, schools and parks. This is a residential area not an industrial area. Please have some empathy for this community.

I believe that the local ecology will be greatly damaged. I'm concerned about toxic waste from weather damaged panels. I think no matter what is planted around this site, it will still be an eye sore and property values will be impacted.

As NC becomes more urbanized each year and deforested with lack of planning and foresight this is the wrong step for Rowan County. There are hundreds of acres of fields available without impacting vast acres of forests. Why would anyone think it is a good choice to cut down trees for solar energy when there are existing open spaces available. There is a multitude of turkeys deer now quail and foxes that depend on that area.

When solar farms cause species within a habitat to leave, they also remove the valuable ecosystem services that they provide to the habitat. It becomes less livable for plants and wildlife that have adapted to its specific conditions.

I vote NO. This will affect the quality of life for our residential neighborhood not to mention the effect on wildlife and environment. Also we will see decreased property values. So sad that one of our neighbors doesn’t care about others in the area.

I OPPOSE the Solar Farm. My Family dont want it behind our home. Go somewhere else. Leave our Community Alone!

I am opposed to this location. This land is surrounded by neighborhoods. Also very concerned for wildlife and streams on this land
