I have recently been notified that there will be a 50 acre solar farm coming to Owego NY. It surrounds my entire property and will be seen far and wide by many local people. I am starting this petition in hopes that others like myself will agree we do not need a 50 acre solar farm. The people around will not benefit from this solar farm, it is all going to the grid, it is not going to benefit any of the community. The solar farm will cause horrible glare far and wide, it will ruin property value for many, the wildlife will disappear and the site of this solar farm will be horrible. The feedback I have received from residents confirms that our concerns regarding property values and local scenery are widely shared. I am currently gathering documents to present our case before the town board. We must remain focused on the negative impact this project will have on our land.

Unless it helps the residents why do it? Lets just ruin everything for the benefit of a few.
It should not be this close to residences as there has not been enough long term environmental and health impact studies done on the effects of solar fields.

I am facing the same problem. How can this be allowed? Honest taxpayers facing decreased property values, well water worries, increased heat around our homes, run off worries. Greed greed greed-all allowed by our state and local government.
