As a resident of Clayton County I am against the merger of the two health districts. I feel our county elected and appointed officials have somewhat failed us. If asked most are unaware of the services offered and probably never or haven't visited in years. Why hasn't this situation been on the local news, in the newspaper, on radio/television and/or on social media. For this petition to have been created over 2 weeks ago and only have 240 signatures is troubling. This injustice needs the county's support and attention to stop this merger.

As a retiree from the Clayton County Health Dept. I am totally against this merger!

This proposal is of little to no benefit for the county of Clayton. A proposal to merge with a district with fewer resources, a lower per capita income and a crumbling health care system is obviously not in the best interest of our county. I am ashamed that such a merger would be recommended and/or supported.

As a long time citizen of Clayton County, it is absolutely crucial that the funding for a District Health Director be met. The Clayton County Board of Health has been working very hard for the past few years to remain an important department in the lives of their citizens. This merger is a very selfish decision that does not take into consideration the hardworking citizens and workers this county supports. Please hear out the voices of the Clayton County citizens before thinking about this merger.

Clayton County Health Department has strived to serve other surrounding counties throughout the state of Georgia as well as other States. We work hard and try to give the up most and best service to each individual that enters our doors. Each individual that works for CCBOH puts all their energy into applying the knowledge, strength and effort into what is done. The years of experiment, titles we earned, the timely hours in reaching out and going out to the community, schools, centers, should be acknowledge and not dismissed. Remember these thoughts and help Clayton County Health Department stay alive and running as what we are CCBOH.

As a Clayton County citizen I think it would be horrendous to merge us with 12 other health department. Why can't we merge with closer county like Fulton and DeKalb counties at least or money would be kept closer to home.

Has anyone noticed all the Original Salaried CCBOH staff who have already lost their livelihood? Who knew that district 4 only hires hourly staff with no benefits? The majority of those were vested. (10+years) dedicated public servants. They went through 29 months of holding it down in very uncertain and trying times, all for nothing. Now their families are uninsured, in the middle of a pandemic that they worked through. They don't deserve what this merger has done to their lives and well being. It's such an unnecessary evil. So malicious. They are clayton county residents, so this will affect the local community, they are homeowners with no way to pay their mortgages. Foreclosures destabilize communities. It's a lose/lose for these dedicated employees, their families, their communities and the residents of Clayton County who have counted on and thrived from these peoples care. It's just a bad deal all the way around. Bad business for Clayton County.

The merger will dissect the intricate process and development of our Health Department. It is important to understand the significance of what our Health department in Clayton County has accomplished and the growth that is to come. We need to stay independent and not merge.
