the council just rejected the plans for stroller close so we actually did it. i cant believe how much energy everyone put into this to keep our street safe. lets just keep an eye on things to make sure they dont try to sneak anything else past us later.

This letter is to ask for your support to a petition to STOP the proposed development in Stroller Close an already fully developed and densely populated area of our quiet cul-de-sac estate.
Many residents have raised their objection to this development on the West Berks Council planning website highlighting the following concerns:
- Loss of parking amenity for existing residents
- Increased traffic through the estate
- Increased parking on adjacent roads, blind corners, verges, pavements and opposite driveways
- Potential for a minimum of 8 additional vehicles in the estate
- Refuse collection access cannot be guaranteed (confirmed by Waste Management team)
- Emergency vehicle access restricted
- Impact on residents quality of life and the enjoyment of their homes and surrounding area
- Over development of the estate
- Increased risk to safety and wellbeing of children, elderly and others due to increased traffic flow and dangerous parking
- Residents already having to convert front gardens into parking due to current volume of vehicles and inadequate on street parking
- Thatcham Town Council has objected to this application

ive been reading all the comments about the parking nightmares already happening around stroller close and it just confirms why this development is a terrible idea. im currently putting together a formal objection letter based on everyone stories so keep them coming if you have more to add.

the momentum behind this is honestly incredible and im so glad so many neighbors are finally speaking up about the chaos this project would bring. it really shows that we all care about keeping our streets safe and liveable for everyone.

I strongly oppose this development. The obnoxious manner in which a 'close' has been suggested to effectively become a through-road shows the complete lack of regard for those living in close proximity. The list of issues this will cause to residents of the surrounding area is endless and therefore completely unjust.
Parking is already a real issue in stroller close. Please reconsider the impact on the local residents particularly those with young children, disabilities and the elderly.
Lived here for 40 years and like being in a cul-de-sac. There is no room for any development nor for any more vehicles. I do not want this.
This proposal can NOT go ahead!!! I have lived opposite stroller close for 18 years. Over these years I have witnessed refusal trucks not being able to empty bins due to unable access and even there truck hitting cars . And I am very concerned about more traffic being on the estate as there are children playing outside.. We DO NOT need any more traffic!!!!!
I fully support this petition as this is already an over developed area, even delivery lorries have damaged parked cars whilst delivering.
parking is already at a premium in Stroller Close without the problems which would be caused by these apartments and large vans/wagons would not be able to access Stroller Close.

We don't need any more flats in Thatcham. There are plenty of flats on the market. The doctors surgery can't cope with the number of residents in Thatcham as it is without adding to it's problem
