Petition to Stop Short Term Rentals at Las Joyas

We, the undersigned eligible voters of Las Joyas Subdivision (Community) located in the City of Port Isabel, TX located in Cameron County, TX request the following regulations be put into place in accordance with Section 3.2 Leases of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Las Joyas Planned Unit Development made and established February 17, 2015.

  • Daily rentals in Las Joyas Community be ceased effective October 1, 2020.
  • Require home rentals to be a minimum of one week (7 days and 6 nights) effective October 1, 2020.
  • No more homes or lots to be sold as rental properties, effective immediately.
  • There shall be no “grandfathering” of rental properties. These rules shall apply to all properties in the Las Joyas Community.

We request these restrictions be put into place for the safety of our community.
