EDF EN Canada Development Inc. is proposing a large scale solar farm on prime agricultural land close to the town of Napanee. The area is found within the boundaries of River Road, Hamburg Road, County Road 9 and Little creek Road. We are very concerned about the impacts on local residents, the destruction of prime farm land, the effect on the environment and wildlife in the area. Much of our local area has been taken up by similar projects. Please sign this petition to STOP the construction of this Solar Farm.

I am still honestly stunned by how many of you stepped up to protect our local farmland. This momentum belongs entirely to the neighbors who recognized what was at stake and decided to speak out.

Helping a brother out. Everyone has a few minutes to spare so. No excuses and sign the petition. Nothing worse than buying a house and making it home to have the view destroyed by a Solar Farm. Worst part other than the long term effects it will have on the environment and neighbors health is, none of the electricity generated is being used to support our Town's demand for it.
Stop destroying our natural habitats when the people who are impacted do not reap any of the benefits or profits or even see the savings that these solar fields are suppose to offer. Leave the natural lands for the animals who live there.
This is a facility that is entirely unnecessary in terms of Ontario's energy needs & wastes prime agricultural land for no reason.
No more solar farms in Napanee! They are destroying wildlife habitat, agricultural land, and the beauty if our community. Not to mention that the true impact solar farms have on the environment are not yet known. These operations could irreversibly pollute the water and land making it unsafe for people, livestock or wildlife to live near. These unsightly, monster operations cover the land and completely strip nearby real estate of its value and appeal. We do not want solar farms on Napanee!
Solar panels are ruining our country living. Farmland should be just that, farmland!!!

Ontario is paying way too much to solar operators for 20 year deals for a tiny percentage of power going into the grid, much of which is being sold to US or Quebec at a loss, and that is driving the cost of hydro up. 20 years from now, when those companies are bankrupt or dissolved, we will have fields of cement and solar panels that will contaminate the soil if not decommissioned properly or they will fill landfill sites with tonnes of waste. Stop it!
