We need someassistance from our South Ward Councillors (Penrith Council)in providing a solution to the dumping of rubbish, household items, mattresses, car doors etc at the red charity bins located near the Community Centre at Glenmore Park Shopping Centre. This bin is for clothing items only but is being used as a dumping ground for other household items. We need solutions on how the dumping of these items can be stopped. More regular collections are assisting but there needs to be a deterrent in place to stop the dumping in the first place.
Due to some recent contact by local residents, there seem to have been more regular pick-ups from the clothing bins however they are still constantly overflowing with items including regular household items that are not specifically clothing. Recent examples have been mattresses, car doors, upright fans and televisions - some of which are left out in the weather so are of no use to anybody intended for. Some larger signs advising of what can and can't be left at the bins may be an option to deter the dumping or alternatively CCTV cameras may have excellent results. There needs to be a better solution to what is currently in place as residents have had enough of the constant eyesore. The piles of junk at the charity bins are still blocking the path and ruining our community space. Email your South Ward Councillors today to demand a camera at this site. Send any new photos of trashed items to the email address listed in the petition body.

The local community response shows that we are all tired of the dumping at the charity bins. Now is the time to turn this momentum into action by emailing our South Ward Councillors to demand they install cameras and clear signage today.

Get rid of the bins near the shops, it's embarrassing the amount of crap people dump there. Either that or put up CCTV cameras and prosecute those that dump their crap.
Thank you to all involved for getting this up & running. Penrith Council should consider offering regular street pickups (say every quarter - similar to what happens in other council areas).
This annoys me more than anything else I have seen here in Glenmore Park..... seriously if you don't want it and its rubbish then organise a council clean up. If its not rubbish and you are trying to donate it then take it to the drop off at St Vinnies on Cox Avenue or somewhere else that accepts donations.
This is a big eye sore in out local community all because people dump in useful items they no longer want instead of disposing of them correctly. Most items dumped are not clothes therefore costing this poor charity more time and money to dispose of others garbage. Security cameras and name and shame and fine these people!
it is not only an eyesore but poses potential health & safety risks as well as there are always smashes alcohol bottles, old food scrapes, soiled items dumped within this mess too. It is a turn off to.use the "community centre" as this is in no way a child safe environment!
People who just dump their rubbish should be ashamed of themselves. You too live in this area and it reflects badly on everyone including you the culprits.

The ground surrounding the bins has obvious evidence of vandals that have set fire to items left outside the bins which is also unsightly

Personally I don't want the bins to be removed but I do believe that people are abusing the privilege of having them there and using it as a dumping ground for their unwanted household items.
