In the United States we are all given the chance to make a difference in someone's life by donating our blood. Before you can do this you go through an extensive set of questions to find possible risks. Have you had sex with another man is one of these questions, and if you answer yes, automatically you are told you cannot give blood. Why should Gays be discriminated against? Their blood is no different than any straight man's blood. Just because our society is filled with stereotypical statements; All gays have HIV. This doesn't mean we can't go through the same blood screening tests. Every single pint of blood donated to the American Red Cross is tested for HIV and AIDS, yet because of the higher risk in gays they believe it is just easier to not let them donate.
