According to the FDA, Homosexuals cannot give blood due to the higher risk of sexual diseases. Yet they screen every single pint of blood that is donated for diseases such as HIV and AIDS. I guess it is just easier for them to accept stereotypical views and discriminate against homosexuals than to screen their blood too. This needs to stop! The FDA needs to change their donating laws so more people are given the chance to make a difference in other peoples lives. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they shouldn't have the chance to save someone's life. Please sign so we can be one step closer to equality!
I have been thinking about my friends who were turned away from blood drives simply because of who they love. This policy ignores the testing technology we already use and it needs to change so everyone can contribute to saving lives.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a long overdue acknowledgment of the unfair barriers keeping so many people from helping others. It proves that people are finally ready to look at the science instead of holding onto outdated prejudice.
