We, the Students, Parents, Teachers, and Independence High School community are advocating for the reinstatement of Steve Papin as a classified employee of Independence High School. Mr. Papin is a long time San Jose resident and ESUHSD graduate, caring individual, community leader, and upstanding role model to all of our high school students, in particular our developing young men of color. Our community as a whole has very few role models and leaders with regional history that tirelessly dedicate themselves to preparing our students for their future. Steve supports on-campus activities during the school day, after school, weekends, and evenings. As parents, students, community members, voters and taxpayers, we are hopeful you, Superintendent Funk and ESUHSD Board of Trustees, will honor our request.
