We, the parents of Roosevelt Alexander Elementary, are coming together to show our strong support for bringing Paul back to RAE.
Recently, a concern was raised regarding Paul’s friendly interactions with students, which led to a formal review. After looking into the situation by Katy ISD, he was cleared of any wrongdoing. Since when a hug is a crime! However, despite this, he is no longer allowed to return to RAE due to district policies, and has been reassigned elsewhere—against his wishes and without the opportunity to return to the school community he cares deeply about.
For many of us, this has been difficult to understand, especially given the overwhelmingly positive experiences our children have had with him.
Paul has been more than just a member of the school staff—he has been a trusted, caring, and positive presence in our children’s daily lives. So many of our kids feel comfortable going to him for help, encouragement, or simply a smile during their day.
He has a natural ability to connect with students in a way that makes them feel safe, seen, and supported. For many families, including my own, he has made a lasting impact. Our children speak about him with genuine affection and trust, which says everything about the kind of person he is.
He consistently shows kindness, patience, and a level of care that goes beyond expectations. His presence has helped create a warm and supportive environment in RAE that many families truly value.
We are sharing this petition not out of frustration, but out of appreciation—for someone who has made a real difference in our children’s lives.
We respectfully ask school leadership to consider the voices of the families signing below and the strong support within the community for Paul’s return to RAE.
Our kids deserve people like Paul in their lives.

He was more than a security guard—he was a trusted, caring presence who made our kids and families feel safe every single day. He knew everyone, greeted us with kindness, and brought a sense of comfort that’s truly missing. Our school isn’t the same without him—we would love to have him back
I have met Paul in the school when I was serving as a watch dad, he looked careful and reliable person. Always felt safe seeing him around As I understand the situation is resolved, and he is cleared, also I see he is a dad who has kids at the same school, which makes him more caring about the kids Considering the fact that he is cleared I would recommend to give him another chance and take him back to the school
Please bring Paul back. Every single interaction I’ve had with him has been nothing less than professional and respectful. This is very disappointing news that he’s been relocated after being cleared. He was part of the RAE family.
i find it really messed that he he got in trouble for doing his job and doing it well, i myself am in the private security industry and they teach you how to interact with the people and community you are serving to make them feel safe and comfortable coming to you with any issues that they may have and see and for that to be what got this man in trouble is a disservice to not only him and the the security industry but to the school and community that he is serving i hope we can get him back to work asap
Mr. Garcia is the best school guard our school could have. He is an incredible role model, kind, caring, and always willing to help. He keept our school safe in such a professional way and made everyone feel secure. He has a beautiful heart, and it truly shows in how he treats our children and staff every single day. We miss him deeply. Our school is not the same without him. He is a valuable part of our community, and we would love to have him back. Please bring him back. Amelia Jimenez
